Encouragement from a Criminal

Christ hangs upon the cross, his life ebbing out of the mortal body with which divinity robed him.  He has been betrayed, mocked, rejected, beaten, pierced, and he suffers alone.

And yet ---

Don’t you fear God since you are under the same sentence?  We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve.  But this man has done nothing wrong.  Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”  Luke 23:40-42

I wonder if he knew how he reminded me, in my weakest hour, what I was here for?

Of course I would remember him when I came into my kingdom.” David Nasser, Glory Revealed

Today you will be with me in paradise.”  Luke 23:43
