Let’s Write

Story
God of the universe
Spoke
He wrote with words
Hanging planets in order
Starry hosts shimmer
Babbling brooks run ahead
Crashing waves clap praise
Trees whisper gentle joy
Mountain peaks point
Beauty
His words create story
Creative glory placed in man
In His image He breathed
Adventures yet to be written
Parables, myths, comedy, fact
Endless poetry, epic novels
Flow from words that give
Voice
Nancy Kourmoulis (4/2010)
A sentence from the back cover, “We should write because writing April 2010 045brings clarity and passion to the act of living.”
I have been “writing” in a journal for years. It truly brings clarity for me as I live the adventure of my life. For over a year I have been “writing” this blog. Sharing the passion of my heart from daily living.
I am impressed with how at ease Ms. Cameron is with writing. “What if writing were simply about the act of writing?” I long to just put thoughts on paper, to listen and become a storyteller. Ms. Cameron encourages me further…“What if we didn’t have to be good at writing? What if we got to do it for sheer fun?”
My fingers pause and I listen. Could I do this? My heart cries, wouldn’t it be a thrill to try? I grab a pencil and paper, let’s write!

I've been writing "for serious" for so long that sometimes I forget that I can also write "for fun." A few months ago, I let loose with a poem by the title of "The Alligator's Swamp Jungle Ball." Never have I so much fun writing as I did that poem. And the reactions and responses were just as startling.

Writing for fun can be, well, fun.

I'm with Glynn (and you :) ... why not just write and have fun? Why not...

I love journaling too, Nancy. It does clarify, as you say, and I often recommend it for my patients.

And this? This is a beautiful place to be. A beautiful place to start.

My journals also led me to begin writing for others. But long before that, journaling changed my life.
