Through this time there have been some personal struggles, places of warfare with the enemy that God has brought to the surface in my life. Places that have been tender and before would have left me undone. Old fears that haunt me. The enemy attacks one of my weaknesses, how I feel about myself as a parent. The Psalms of God and Beth’s words are carrying me through.
“God is with us and for us even when His face and His favor seem hidden.” Beth Moore
“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds his people now and forever.” Psalm 125:2 (NCV)
“If God has us surrounded like a chain of mighty mountains, then why have we suffered so much harm?” Beth Moore
“It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:22 (HCSB)
“Why does God allow such warfare? God uses the fight to strengthen muscles we’ll need at that next level. If yesterday’s wimp is going to become tomorrow’s warrior, something has to happen today.” Beth Moore
What happens today? Today, I choose to exercise spiritual muscles, not give in to the darkness of depression, inadequacy, and failure as I have done in the past. Today, I choose to believe that God is for me even when life seems to be quaking all around me. Today…
“one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

Thank you for your verses and quotes. I really needed the encouragement today too! I have been listening to Beth Moore series "So Long Insecurity". It reminds me that we need to keep pressing on but always keeping in mind that God is taking care of us.
Oh, this is a beautiful post and an even better choice that you made today--
I especially love the scripture from Psalm 125:2--thanks for the reminder that He is always there rejoicing when we rejoice, mourning with us in our losses.
I pray that your Treasures of the King this weekend will lead you into a place of greater depth and intimacy with our wonderful Prince of Peace.
Loving you,
D.
What a great post! I love the line: "If yesterday's wimp is going to become tomorrow's warrior, something has to happen today." THAT is so true, yet I never thought about it that way. As always, I come away from your place with something to think about! Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by my place today with your kind words--always a pleasure to meet another Nancy! Didn't it seem like there were a lot more of us when we were kids? Anyway, it does seem like the enemy knows the place where we are most vulnerable. Keep pressing on! Blessings.
We completed this same Beth Moore study in our Sunday school class last week. It was wonderful. Thank you for your sweet words at my blog.
