Committed

DSC00223

Ann’s quiet commitment shared here quickens my spirit.  I print out the pages and find myself committed.  Committed to memorize the words I’ve posted on Sundays since last June.

Princess daughter and I repeat the words back and forth to one another.  We trip over the words as we try to put them in the correct order.  We let the words sit on our tongue and they sink into our hearts.

I thank God and pray for those who love the Lord and by faith challenge others to commit to heart the Word that never fails.  The Word that always gives life.

Perhaps you would like to join and make memorizing His Word a habit as well.  It is not an easy habit, but it is worth the effort.

As Ann so eloquently encourages…

Committing the Holy to heart is the way we commune with the Holy Himself.”

What a great thing to do Nancy. I am not following anything formal, but I am trying to memorize more scripture these days.

you've made art from word-art... beautiful :)

I love how you put this: “We let the words sit on our tongue and they sink into our hearts.” That’s what I’m trying to do with Philippians. So far it’s not too hard, but once I leave chapter 1, it’s going to get much harder. But it’s helpful to know others are out here trying to hide the Word in their hearts too. We’re never alone in this, praise God.

I am trying this too, Nancy. I'm not so very good at memorization, but Ann's gift really encouraged me. May I encourage you? Your journal is beautiful (mine is glued in a spiral notebook :). Keep going!

There are so many memorizing. I had already committed to Philippians before Ann mentioned Colossians. Only so much room in my brain.

But you are so right, there is just something, better than magical, that is happening. You put it perfectly - “We let the words sit on our tongue and they sink into our hearts.”

I know exactly what you are speaking of – your words described with clarity what this is doing to my heart. Thank you.

Thank you for this

And today, I pray that God shines his love on you and yours.
