“When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 3:12
Moses was called to bring God’s people out of slavery – bondage – to the mountain to worship God. Walking through Exodus with the children of Israel I continue this desert journey. It has become a journey through the desert of my heart.
“…they entered the Desert of Sinai and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the mountain…” Exodus 19:2
desert camping
mountain foundation
strong, secure
trumpet sound
mountain trembles
smoke billows
mountain peak
blazing light
God’s glory
consuming fire
“…base our faith on WHO GOD IS rather than what He appears to be doing is crucial to our spiritual health.”1
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9
God asks me to stop and camp here at the base of the mountain for a while. Taking time to SEE GOD for WHO HE IS. I remember He is God who wants to be found, always full of grace and glory.

Dear Nancy, this post really touched me today - in ways that I cannot explain. Please know that God used YOU today, in a very big way!
Thank you,
Mary
As much as I love the NT, I have to say that I'd be putting Exodus near the top of the list if I had to pick one or two books of the Bible I couldn't live without. I'm always seeing my heart there with the Israelites, and seeing God's heart there with me.
Mary - have been praying for you this week.
Lyla - I am embracing this book and finding it just what I need at this point in life. For the exact reasons you mentioned - heart issues.
